It was chaired by Dr. Shoichiro Toyoda, the honorary chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation. After the opening remarks from Dr. Toyoda, the business activities and settlements of the financial accounts for fiscal 2005 were reported. The business plan and financial budget for fiscal 2006 were then reviewed, and the appointment of executives and Steering Committee members for fiscal 2006 was proposed. All matters proposed and discussed were duly approved. During his opening remarks, Dr. Toyoda commented on a new IT reform strategy, "Realizing the world's safest road traffic communications society," and pledged his commitment towards efforts to realize it.
